Class Title: Free Spirit Boho Journal Class Description: Roben-Marie invites you to take part in the Free Spirit BoHo Journal experience. Create an art journal for your individual story, packed with stained papers, vibrant collage, and unexpected surprises. Take the journal with you by its handles and record your memories as you go. Roben-Marie will demonstrate her simple collage approach with a variety of papers, including some she designed exclusively for the class. For those who love the Boho look, this fabulous journal is sure to become one of your favorites. Experience Level: This session is for all who are willing to let loose and get messy…all skill levels welcome! Supplies List -- Please bring the following:
One 4oz. Bottle of Elmer’s School Glue (please don’t bring the off brand as it has too much water in it.)
Scissors
Glue Stick
Brush (for applying liquid glue)
Paper Cutter - Personal Size
Lead Pencil
Bookbinding Awl
Assorted Papers like old handwritten letters/receipts, painted papers from your personal stash, colorful book/magazine pages, etc. An assortment will also be provided in your kit.
Basic Supply Items: Apron, paper towels and/or baby wipes, water jar, scissors, glue stick, heat tool/gun and glue brush. Kit fee: $25 Your kit fee will be due to the teacher at the start of class. It is easier if you bring cash in the exact amount of the fee. Kit from Instructor to include: 1 Classification Folder, sketchbook paper, deli paper, assorted collage and colorful printed papers, eyelets, printed twill, shipping tags, and sari ribbon. About Roben-Marie:Roben-Marie provides ideas, inspiration and quality instruction for hobbyists and art entrepreneurs. She teaches artists from beginners to those making a living from their art through her blog and her popular online workshops. Her art brings together acrylic paint, pastels, upcycled papers, wax crayons, pens, pencils, stitching and many other mediums in bold and colorful paintings and collages. It’s her place to let go, ditch perfectionism, and express herself with a blend of words, visuals and crafting. As an artist, blogger, woman of faith and founder of Maker’s Tech U, her mission is to serve others and help them get the most out of their art as a hobby, or as a business. Seeing other creators embrace their unique voices, build their online art dreams and gain confidence in their new skills brings her great joy. She has been a working artist since 2004, is self-taught and believes that anyone can cultivate their creative spark. She’s taught mixed media art workshops and retreats across the U.S. and internationally and her work has been featured in countless books and industry magazines. She recently launched the Artist Life private podcast. In her spare time she loves to read, bake all the things, sleep in and travel. She lives in Florida with her husband of 33 years and together they work with the youths in their church, whom they see as family.
