Amy Maricle
Artist • Art Therapist • Author
Class Description
Elemental materials surround us and many of our most beautiful and versatile art materials are made from them. Using paper, watercolor, and salt, co-create with nature to make unique watercolor panels that mimic lava, storms, blooming flowers, or the night sky. We will explore how layers of salt and pigment create depth and interest, and then fold your pieces into small accordion books with closures made from shells, wood, and other natural elements from the water and the land. Explore your connection to nature and art, and take home this incredible art piece that you can keep as is, or fill with affirmations of your ties to the natural world. Experience Level: All are welcome. Supply List: Please bring natural materials for closures for your books. Size: something that fits in the palm of your hand easily and has a hole, or can be tied into place. Examples are:
Shells
Bits of bark or wood
Feathers
Sea glass
Stones
