Class Title Into The Deep Blue C: Exploring Cyanotypes with Contemplative Mixed Media Journaling
Colleen Attara
Mixed Media Storyteller
Class Description
This is a workshop for all your senses, as we will use the lake, the sun, and the flora around us to transform a cardboard box into a layered altered vessel. We will use the sacred lake water to peel back the layers of a small box. I love to use old boxes that are around 6x6 or smaller. The UV rays of the sun will be our art media as we learn about the cyanotype process, also referred to as the blueprint process. Using flora we forage for in the woods as well as 1920’s glass plates and vintage negatives, we begin to tell a visual story of our journey into these woods. We will slow stitch, collage, paint and write as our long weekend away gets saved forever on our pages. This class is about transformation, nature and mixed media as we lean into and create layers using ephemera, nature and our wide open hearts.
