Mixed Media Abstract Artist, Teacher & Art Journaler
Class Title: Mixed Media Meet Up Class Description: Color and paper create a magical union and this class is all about experimenting, playing, and having fun with color and collage. In this workshop, you will explore using a variety of mediums to add color and texture to paper. You will begin the morning by creating your own handmade “nature” paint brush followed by a lively warm up painting papers using textural marks, shapes and symbols. As a group, Roben-Marie will guide you through her popular Paint n’ Pass Round Robin for a fun collaborative exercise that will help you loosen up and get messy. This will set the stage as you learn and follow Roben-Marie's intuitive process for creating large scale painted papers using a variety of mediums including acrylic paints, pastels, pencils, crayons, inks and more. Roben-Marie will share how she uses viewfinders to discover the most beautiful sections in your work, cut them down into smaller pieces and use them to create one-of-a-kind art collages on old book covers.
