Learn the art of paper cutting. Paper cutting is a beautiful art form that plays with shadow and light, depth, and form. Amy will teach you all the basics – safety, technique, and ways to engage mindfully in this beautiful practice. You’ll see how she uses paper cutting to make sculptural work, framed papercuts, and dynamic, interactive art journal pages. Taking your inspiration from the woods that surround you at Squam Lake, you will cut nature-inspired shapes and patterns. You will make simple shapes and cutouts, as well as dangling, spiral shapes that seem to dance in the air. You will then take these light, beautiful forms and suspend them from a delicate branch. Each of these mobiles will hang from the ceiling of your workshop space to create a floating forest. You will take your mobile home with you, and can continue to use paper cutting to transform your art in dynamic ways.
