Join Lisa in a creative journey utilizing gorgeous Jacquard weave batiks which she imports from Ghana.  Their rich colors and artful designs lend a unique quality to landscape quilts in particular.  In the class, you'll learn a variety of tips and techniques for designing with these fabrics to create both realistic and stylized landscape designs (approx 16" square), to be finished later as a wall hanging, pillow, or other decorative accents. Gain inspiration from the natural surroundings of Squam Lake, or bring a photo of a favorite photo to guide you. Stitch by hand or machine; quilting experience is not necessary.
Experience Level: Beginners are welcomed.
Materials Needed:
  • Fabric scissors
  • Low loft cotton batting (approx 18" square)
  • 1/2 yard backing fabric
  • Neutral all-purpose sewing thread (one light and one dark spool)
  • Optional -- bring embellishments you might want to incorporate
Class Kit: $20 includes access to a community box of jacquard batiks in a variety of colors and coordinating background fabrics.
Your kit fee will be due to the teacher at the start of class. It is easier if you bring cash in the exact amount of the fee.
