Class Title Punching with Purpose: Tactile Symbols for Hope & Healing
Kristin Peterson
Mixed Media Artist & Teacher
Class Description
In this hands-on, heart-led class, you’ll explore the ancient art of symbol-making through punch needle embroidery. Using yarn and your own intuitive creativity, you’ll create soft, textured works that hold personal meaning through symbols of healing, empowerment, and hope. Whether you stitch a circle, a sigil, a word, or an abstract form, each loop becomes part of a larger story of how you can reclaim your confidence as a maker with a voice.
This class is perfect for beginners and seasoned creatives. You’ll learn basic punch needle techniques and leave with a small finished piece (or two) that can serve as a home altar adornment, a pocket charm, a soft shield for your creative spirit, or a gentle reminder of your time at the Lake.
Once we learn how to prepare our hoop and use the tools, we will gather around a cozy fire for healing conversations about creativity, life, and all the things we love. The combination of projects and creative sanctuary will help send you back into the world feeling more hopeful and more creative than maybe you have in a long time.

About Kristin: Kristin Peterson is a third generation artist, originally from South Dakota. Kristin’s creative passion is inspired and supported by her husband and kids. Kristin is always exploring and expanding the creative depths of mixed media. She very much enjoys vintage collage work. Kristin loves color and things that have a love-worn comfortable feeling-like an old favorite pair of jeans-coffee stained, patched, painted and well loved. She wants her art to project feelings and make people feel good while looking at it. Her work contains vibrance, mixed with a little funk, which is sprinkled with discreet sensibility. Her style is meant to make you ponder and smile, just as she does as she paints and creates.
