Class Description

This class is designed for the creative maverick, the thrift store enthusiast, the collector of treasures that others consider trash, and the artsy soul longing to rebel against straight lines and rulers.
Is that you?
In this class Aimee creates a space for you to let your eccentric ideas and creative behaviors find a place on the page. Her approach starts with curiosity and play as a way to connect you with your inner muse. She will gently nudge you to  experiment without fear and to lean into your instincts when you create. Aimee's guidance helps you find your visual language using brushes & mark making tools made with natural materials from the beautiful landscape of Squam Lake. Starting with an old book of your choosing, you will create an artist book filled with texture, marks, colors, layers and stories that speak from the depths of your soul. You will discover new ways to use found or collected materials, try techniques like reinvention, deconstruction, and intuitive drawing, weaving, and fabric play.
You'll leave with something your soul will treasure, and return to, time and time again.

About Aimee:
Aimee is a lifelong creative and maker. Finding solace and healing within the pages of her own journal she decided that sharing this most precious process with others was one of her greatest passions. She has hosted in person gatherings and workshops, taught online and built 2 beautiful and nurturing public studio spaces where people could come and explore mixed media art and community as a healing modality. A self professed “art cheerleader” she is gifted at making art accessible to all. Aimee believes Art is a sacred form of self expression and in its purest form it is your truest emotion and a most powerful act of self love.
"I am a gatherer. A creative. A lover. A beauty seeker. I think the act of expressing ourselves through making is one of the most powerful and important parts of being human. Art making is healing, grounding and expanding. It builds connection and truth. Let’s explore together this most beautiful gift."
